Description

A double-layer EVA mat that traps litter kicked out of the box in the upper honeycomb layer and holds it suspended above the lower collection tray — so scatter lands in the mat instead of spreading across your floor, and cleanup means lifting the mat and folding it over a bin.

Features

  • Double-layer design — upper honeycomb surface catches litter granules as the cat exits; lower solid tray retains what falls through so it does not spread to surrounding floor
  • Anti-splash raised perimeter stops litter being kicked sideways during enthusiastic digging
  • Folds flat for storage and travel — the whole mat collapses to roughly the size of a folded newspaper
  • EVA foam construction is waterproof, odor-neutral, and cleans with a quick shake or a rinse under the tap
  • Three sizes accommodate single-entry boxes (45x30cm), standard boxes (50x40cm), and jumbo or top-entry boxes (60x45cm)
  • Available in 7 colorways including gray, khaki, black, blue, pink, purple, and green
  • Soft enough that cats do not avoid stepping on it — a common problem with hard-bristle mats

Specifications

  • Material: EVA foam, BPA-free, waterproof
  • Sizes: 45x30cm (S), 50x40cm (M), 60x45cm (L)
  • Colors: Gray, Khaki, Black, Blue, Pink, Purple, Green
  • Layer construction: dual-layer (honeycomb upper + solid lower tray)
  • Folds: yes, flat-fold for storage
  • Best for: clumping litter, crystal litter, wood pellet litter — any granule-based litter type

Care

Shake the mat over a trash can to remove loose litter from the upper layer. Separate the two layers and rinse both under running water if buildup is heavy. Air dry fully before reassembling — the EVA foam dries quickly. Do not put in the washing machine or dryer.

Honeycomb Litter Trapping Mat

Two layers catch what one layer misses. Fold it over the bin when you are done.

The Litter on the Floor Costs More Than the Mat.

Most litter mats are a single layer of rubber or fabric with holes in it. Litter that hits the holes falls through to the floor and stays there. You sweep it back into the mat to get it into the bin — but by then it has tracked dust across the bathroom tile. The dual-layer mat eliminates that loop. Granules fall through the honeycomb upper layer and land in the lower tray, still inside the mat. Cleanup is lifting the mat and folding it in half. The whole litter load — not just the surface layer — drops into the bin in one motion.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with all litter types?

The honeycomb openings are sized for standard clumping and crystal litter granules. Very fine-grained litters (some crystal types, plant-based pellets under 2mm diameter) may fall through both layers. Very large pellets (some wood pellet formulas over 6mm) will not fall through the upper layer at all, which still means they are contained on the mat. For most mainstream clumping litters the two-layer capture rate is high.

Will my cat actually step on a foam mat?

Most cats that refuse hard plastic mats accept EVA foam because the surface is similar to a bath mat. The soft compression underfoot does not trigger avoidance the way a hard bristle surface does. If your cat is particularly sensitive, place the mat adjacent to the box first and let them walk on it for a day before positioning it directly at the exit.

How do I clean it?

Shake it over a bin first to remove loose granules. For a deeper clean, separate the two layers and rinse under the tap. EVA foam dries within 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature. Do not use bleach — it degrades the EVA surface over time. A mild soap rinse is fine.

Why You’ll Love It

I sweep the same corner of my bathroom every single day. This mat cut that to once a week. The two-layer thing actually works — I can see the litter sitting in the upper tray instead of on the floor.

Bought the large for my jumbo top-entry box. My cat lands on it after every exit and I was skeptical about whether she would use it. Zero avoidance. The foam texture is clearly different enough from hard plastic that she does not notice.
