A rope toy cats actually finish the session with.

Chew. Drag. Repeat.

Most cat rope toys are built like dog toys — stiff, loud, and obviously for a different species. This one started from the opposite direction. Cotton soft enough to chew safely. Matatabi to spark the interest that catnip misses. Silent so late-night play does not become a household problem. Long enough (70 cm) to drag, short enough to curl around. It is not a headline-grabbing gadget. It is a toy that gets reached for, chewed, dropped, and reached for again.

Frequently asked questions

Matatabi (silvervine) is a plant native to East Asia with a stronger cat-attractant effect than catnip. Roughly 30% of cats are indifferent to catnip; most of those cats respond to matatabi. It is natural, non-addictive, and safe — expect 10 to 30 minutes of excitement followed by a calm cool-down.

Cotton fibers are safe in small amounts, but chewing style varies. Supervise the first few play sessions. If your cat actively tries to ingest fragments rather than chew and release, put the toy away and try a different texture.

Store the rope in a sealed zip bag between sessions. The bead's aroma lasts several months with this treatment. If it fades, a drop of matatabi liquid (sold separately) rubbed on the bead will refresh it.

Why You’ll Love It

✦

MATATABI INSIDE

A real silvervine fruit bead is knotted into each tassel. Many cats — even the roughly 30% who do not respond to catnip — react strongly to matatabi. Natural attractant, no added chemicals.

◈

TEETH-FRIENDLY COTTON

Tightly wound cotton cord gives enough resistance to work a cat's jaw and help clean teeth, without the hard edges of plastic or the splinter risk of raw wood.
